Why do they hate us? Reading 3

1. What questions do you have about the reading? How might they be answered?
I have no questions about this reading.
2. What U.S. policies do most Muslims hate and why? If you need more information, how might you find it? The policies they hate about our country are that we are a very strong willed country. They dont like our freedom either. You could find it on the internet.

3. Why might acknowledging that U.S. policies have anything to do with jihadist attacks be seen as "politically incorrect" and "blaming the victim"? They feel like we are wrong about the way we live. Our christianity is wrong. Just the fact that we are us makes them mad. Our way of governing makes them angry. They blame us because we are in the "wrong".

4. Despite a year of effort by Obama's special envoy George Mitchell to move the Israelis and Palestinians toward a negotiated two-state solution, there's been no visible progress. Why not? If you need more information, how might you find it? I think there has been no progress because no one wants to mess with the situation and have many more lives lost over it. If you needed more information you could look on the internet.

5. How and why are the people of Gaza suffering? If you need more information, how might you find it?
The people of Gaza are suffering because they are being attacked and held hostage and being tortured all because no one will work on the two-state situation.

Why do they hate us? Reading 2

What questions do you have about the reading? How can they be answered?
I am wondering why no one noticed that Osama had in fact answered the question that was asked by Thomas? I'm not quite sure how that question would be answered?

Years have passed since President Bush's comments. What knowledge and evidence do you have to support, add to, amend, or oppose his explanation for terrorist acts? Why might jihadists want to overthrow certain Muslim governments? Drive Israel out of the Middle East? If you don't know how might you find out? I think that jihadists want to overthrow other governments because they want it to be their way and nothing else. They feel like life their way is the right way. They would want to drive the Muslims out of the middle east because they want them to go somewhere else.

Even more years have passed since Bin Laden's harsh critique of the United States. What knowledge and evidence do you have to support, add to, amend, or oppose that critique. Our government thought that we were helping them by sending our troops to risk our lives for their country. Osama is a very jealous man that has the wrong idea about our country. While we are trying to do good he is thinking it's wrong.

According to Wright, what has led young men in Arab countries to find martyrdom attractive?
Wright states that the young men would join a death cult because they have no jobs their emotions were raging and they were very upset. This would later become the Al Qaeda.
According to polling in Muslim countries, how popular is Al Qaeda? Why?
Al Qaeda was a very popular organization because it was promising. After the Muslims saw what Osama had already accomplished they were all for the cult.

Why do they hate us? Questions 1-5

What questions do you have about the reading? How might they be answered?
I dont really have any questions about the reading therefor they can not be answered.

What is president Obama's answer? Brennan's?
President obama's answer wis to try to reach out to the Muslim people around the world. Brennan says they use their religion to get to muslims around the world.

Thomas was clearly dissatisfied with Brennan's answer. Why? Would she have been satisfied with Obama's answer? Thomas was not satisfied because he avoided the question why? I think she would have had the same feeling about Obama's answer.

Why does Glenn Greenwald think that it important to consider terrorist motivations? Do you agree? Why or why not?
Glen thinks it's important because you need to know these things to fix them. I agree with Glen because these problems do need to be fixed.

How would you answer Thomas question, "Why"? Why do Hasan  Abdulmutallab, and others commit such acts? I think that these people commit such acts because they need to make it clear that it is their country, their homeland and their religion. I also think they are mad that our country is doing better than theirs when we actually aren't really?
